Drugs worth nearly R500 000 seized in Cradock, suspect on the run

During an integrated operation on Wednesday, members of the Operational Command Centre, K9 unit and Highway patrol in Cradock searched a homestead in Lingelihle, Cradock, and confiscated 58kg of loose dagga and 4 004 Mandrax tablets.

"The confiscated drugs have a street value of R494 320," said police spokesperson, Captain Lariane Jonker.

"An investigation has been launched to trace the suspect."

Cradock SAPS Cluster Commander, Brigadier Madoda Zamkana, said that the "Police will continue to intensify visibility by conducting stop and search operations."

He also urged the community to come forward with information to ensure that our communities live in a safe and secure environment.
