Police appeal for leads after Kamesh man shot point-blank walking in the street

Police in Kamesh, Uitenhage, are seeking the assistance of the public in solving a shooting incident that claimed a life of a 23-year-old man after an alleged point-blank shooting on the street in Kamesh over the weekend.

"On Sunday, at around 04:00am, it is alleged that Brigwin Goliath (23) was walking on Suirker Bekkie Street, Kamesh (Uitenhage), when an unknown man armed with a firearm shot him several times on his upper body," said police spokesperson, Sergeant Majola Nkohli.

"Goliath died at the scene."

It is further said that after the incident, a suspect jumped into a white Volkswagen Golf that was waiting at the distance and the vehicle drove off.

"Police are investigating a case of murder and are urging anyone with information that could lead to the arrest of the suspect to contact the investigating officer, Detective Warrant Officer Andrew Hoffman at 083 336 1086 or 041 988 8200 to anonymously share information via Crime Stop at 08600 10111."
