PE's COTi Chocolate Manufacturers introduces world first zero added sugar peanut butter chocolate bar

Port Elizabeth-based, COTi Chocolate Manufacturers (COTi), are currently in Dubai where they have introduced the world’s first zero added sugar peanut butter chocolate bar at the GulFoods. The GulFoods is the world’s biggest food and beverage trade show.

Focussing on quality ingredients such as roasted peanuts and Fair Trade-certified cocoa, COTi Chocolate Manufacturers (COTi) have embraced these emerging consumer trends to create the world’s first zero added sugar peanut butter bar: Peanut Butter Max.

Halaal-certified by the South African National Halaal Authority (SANHA), Peanut Butter Max bars come in two variants: milk chocolate with zero added sugar and milk chocolate with 11g of protein, both containing Maltitol instead of sugar, offering half the calories and a lower GI index.

The use of Maltitol lowers the likelihood of tooth decay and cavities, while the peanut butter helps sustain energy levels.

“Consumers are increasingly seeking improved and healthier snacking options, specifically ones that offer lower sugar levels (and less guilt),” says COTi Managing Director, Chris Parkin.

“This is the innovative space that Peanut Butter Max occupies – a great tasting, convenient and permissible snack for consumers on-the-go.”

Going a step further, COTi added premium quality whey protein to the real peanut buttery taste. Delivering nutrient-dense calories, Peanut Butter Max Protein is an excellent post-workout snack for fitness enthusiasts to promote muscle repair and toning, or simply as a convenient snack for those with busy lifestyles.

“These bars are made with the finest WPC80 protein – a pure countline, without cheaper soya or vegetable protein ingredients,” says Chris Parkin.

COTi will be introducing Peanut Butter Max to market at this year’s annual Gulfood Trade Show in Dubai from 17 – 21 February.

“We thought it fitting to introduce a world first at the world’s largest annual food and beverage trade exhibition,” Chris stated.
