Woodridge Prep rugby festival an opportunity for community upliftment

Port Elizabeth - Woodridge Preparatory School recently hosted the Red Rock Spur/Jendamark Rugby Festival.

"In an effort to bridge the gap between the privileged and underprivileged, the majority of schools invited to participate in this festival are either non-fee schools or considered as disadvantaged," explained Lynne Niemann, Marketing & Communications at Woodridge College & Preparatory School.

"The festival therefore provided an opportunity for community upliftment and the nurturing and development of young talent. Participating schools were Altona Primary, Thornhill Primary, Papenkuil Primary, Parsons Hill Primary, Ankervas Primêre Skool, Bonzai School, Albertyn Primary, St Marys Catholic, Kirkwood Primary, Môrewag Primêre Skool and Woodridge Preparatory School."

Niemann said that each of the 400 players and coaches received a t-shirt, cap and water bottle, sponsored by Jendamark, while Red Rock Spur provided them with meals.
