Mt Ayliff police appeal for leads after body of man found eyes gorged out

Mount Ayliff - Police in Mount Ayliff have appealed to the public for assistance with information that can help them solve a homicide case which occurred at Singeni Locality in Mount Ayliff on Monday night.

"It is alleged that a 33-year-old male, Zolile Nomaqaqa, was found dead with a stab wound in his upper body and eyes gorged out," described police spokesperson, W/O ZIlungile Nkamba.

"The deceased was last seen in another house at Singeni locality where there were preparations of circumcision.

"He was found dead the next morning. The circumstances of murder are not yet developed."

W/O Nkamba said that an arrest is imminent.

SAPS Cluster Commander for the area, Brigadier Mtutuzeli Mtukushe, condemned this gruesome murder.

"He extended words of condolences to the deceased's family," said W/O Nkamba.

"Brig Mtukushe requested the public to furnish information to police for swift arrest of the suspect/s. Information will be treated with confidentiality."
