Graaff-Reinet police say body found by roadside is of a Gauteng woman

Graaff-Reinet - Graaff-Reinet police have revealed the name of the woman, whose body was found dumped by the roadside last week.

According to the police, they received an anonymous call at about 06.38 on Thursday last week, informing them of a blonde female lifeless body lying about 3km next to the N9 road direction Middleburg.

"On arrival, the members found the said body of the blonde woman, nearly dressed in Blue jeans and blue shirt," described police spokesperson, Captain Bradley Rawlinson.

"On doing further inspection of the body, police officers found an open wound on the side of decreased's head."

He said that Graaff-Reinet Detectives are investigating case of murder and they are following up on all possible leads.

Graaff-Reinet Cluster Commander, Brigadier RG Adolph, revealed that the woman was idenfitied as 59-year-old Anette Jooste van Eeden.

"The Deceased's last known address is in Vereniging, Gauteng."

Brigadier Adolph has asked anyone who might have information that may assist in the arrest of those behind her murder to contact Detective Warrant Officer Leon Weitz on 082 301 8475.
