Premier Mabuyane congratulated Miss SA 2019 winner Zozibini Tunzi

Bhisho - Eastern Cape Premier, Lubabalo Mabuyane, congratulated Zozibini Tunzi, after she was announced the Miss SA 2019 winner following a hotly contested Miss SA 2019 on Friday night. 

“Zozibini Tunzi’s victory at the highly contested Miss South Africa, taking home the 61stMiss SA crown is great news for this young woman from Tsolo, her family and a wonderful motivation to many young girls from rural areas that they too can win the Miss SA Crown and accomplish anything they pursue in life,” said Mabuyane. 

Mabuyane said the Eastern Cape Provincial government will find ways to work with Tunzi, the new Miss SA, in a number of projects that will be inline with the priorities of her reign and interests linked to the realization of the developmental goals of the Eastern Cape.

As Miss SA 2019 winner, Tunzi, who is 25 years old, walked away with the title as well as R3 million in prize money and sponsorship deals. Miss SA 2019 runner-up, Sasha-Lee Olivier, took home R250 000 in cash, while all the 16 Miss SA finalists received R25 000.

On Wednesday afternoon, Mabuyane, Communications and Digital Technologies Minister, Stella Ndabeni-Abrahams, Eastern Cape Sports, Recreation, Arts and Culture MEC, Fezeka Bayeni visited Tunzi and other two contestants from the Eastern Cape to wish them success for the Miss SA 2019 finals.
