Cookhouse and Cradock police operations net suspects for drug dealing

Cookhouse - Between the 30th of September and the 7th of the October, Cookhouse and Cradock police stations focused on a police generated anti-crime operations during which they made several successes.

"In Cradock the Operational Command Centre members from the Cluster Office's arrested a 24-year-old male with 1046 grams of dagga, in the Lingelihle locality of Cradock," said police spokesperson, Captain Lariane Jonker.

"The estimated street value of the dagga is R1 046."

She said that during the same operation, 22 large dagga plants, 31 medium dagga plants and 35 small dagga plants were also conviscated at an abandoned homestead in the Michausdal locality of Cradock.

"Cookhouse Visible police arrested a 35-year-old male on charges of Dealing in Tik when he was found in possession of 15 tik straws with an estimated street value of R7 500.00."

Meanwhile, a 25-year-old male was also arrested on charges relating to dealing in mandrax when he was found in possession of 200 mandrax tablets in the Cookhouse locality.

"The estimated street value of the Mandrax is R20 000.00."

All suspects appeared in the Cradock Magistrates Court and the Somerset-East Magistrates Court respectivelyon Monday.
