Swartkops - Kwazakele police members arrested a 37-year-old female suspect for the possession of stolen goods on Sunday afternoon while she was taking a bus out of Port Elizabeth, presumed en-route to Zimbabwe.

"This follows after a large passenger bus was stopped by the members just before the Bluewater Bay bridge," said police spokesperson, Captain Andre Beetge.

"After searching the bus and its cargo, 12 stolen cell tower batteries, one set of solar panels and a plasma TV was confiscated.

"All of it was in the possession of the 37-year-old female, who was suspected of being en-route to Zimbabwe with the stolen goods."

She was arrested and will be appearing before the Motherwell Magistrate's Court on Tuesday to face the charges of possession of stolen goods.
