Bodies of granny and her granddaughters found bound in Tsomo river

Tsomo - Police in Tsomo recovered the bodies of the family, who were apparently kidnapped at their homestead on Monday 02 December.

"The three family members, a 71-year-old gogo together with her granddaughters aged 16 and 17 years had last been seen on the Sunday night," said police spokesperson, Captain Namhla Mdleleni.

"A search was conducted and on Saturday, their bodies were found by a shepherd floating in the Mhlahlane River.

"Police were summoned and police divers were called and managed to retrieve the bodies.

"The bodies were found bound with chains."

She said that three cases of murder and kidnapping were opened and no arrest has been made yet.  

"Police are appealing to anyone who can assist with information that can lead to the arrest of the perpetrators to please contact Crime Stop 08600 10111."
