27-year-old Cofimvaba man arrested after killing two Grade 12 girls
A 27-year-old man from Mncuncuzo A/A, in Cofimvaba, was arrested for brutally killing two Grade 12 learners on Thursday night.
"It is alleged that two girls, aged 17 and 18 years old, were at their homestead when the suspect entered and had argument with one of them claiming her to be his girlfriend," described police spokesperson, Captain Namhla Mdleleni.
"He then stab her several times over her body and she died on the scene."
She said that the other girl tried to intervene and she was also stabbed, but she managed to run to the nearby house for assistance.
Cofimvaba man arrested for double murder
"When police arrived, she had also died," Capt Mdleleni.
"Both girls were schooling at Mncuncuzo High School.
"A case of double murder was opened and suspect was arrested and will appear before Cofimvaba Magistrate's Court on Monday."
Cofimvaba SAPS Cluster Commander, Brigadier Mirriam Nkombisa, condemned this heinous killing of women and also commended the quick arrest by the members.
