50 bags of dagga destroyed after finalisation of case

Phumalanga police on Thursday destroyed  50 bags of dagga that was seized back in 2016.

"During the month of October 2016, Phumalanga SAPS members arrested  a suspect driving a motor vehicle  carrying 50 bags of dagga," said police spokesperson, W/ O Moitheri Bojabotseha.

"The case was finalised this year in March 2018."

He said that the accused was sentenced to pay a fine of R10 000. 

"In terms of the law when a case  has been  finalised the  dagga must be destroyed." 

Cluster Commander, Brigadier Xakavu, then oversaw the destruction of the dagga.
