64-year-old Ntabankulu man arrested with dagga worth R60 000

The SAPS Ntabankulu Crime Prevention unit conducted a road block at Dumsi Location, Cweraland A/A, on Monday where they managed to arrest an elderly man for allegedly dealing in dagga.

"This road block conducted after a tipoff recieved by the members," said police spokesperson, Captain Edith Mjoko.

"They stopped a whiteToyota Corolla and found six bags of dagga estimated to the value of R60 000.

"A 64 year old man was arrested."

She said that it is alleged that the dagga was being conveyed to Cradock.

The suspect will appear before the local court soon facing his charges.

The Cluster Commander Brigadier Mtutuzeli Mtukushe welcomed the confiscation of the dagga and the arrest.

He also commended the quick response by the members involved.
