Afri-Save Cash & Carry opens another soup kitchen in New Brighton

In an outpouring of generosity, Afri-Save Cash & Carry Director, Munir Jeeva, has come to the rescue of the destitute in New Brighton, Port Elizabeth, by opening another soup kitchen to feed and nourish the impoverished people of that area.

The soup kitchen is currently able to serve over 150 beneficiaries, including two local crèches, and hopes to brighten the lives of many people in the community also by feeding more and more in the months to come.

Equipment and stock was collected and handed over on Tuesday, to spokesperson, Ondela Kepe at Afri-Save Cash & Carry premises, 50 Melbrooks Avenue, Uitenhage, who was on hand to accept all the necessities from Mr Jeeva himself.

Jeeva, who himself has food delivered weekly across the poorer communities in Nelson Mandela Bay, understands the plight of these organisations as well as the difficulties involved when trying to assist the hungry.

"The more people who can be helped the better for our towns and our province as a whole. We all need to stand together to help wherever we can, no matter how big or small the gesture, we all can do our bit for a better society," Jeeva said.
