ANC Eastern Cape welcomes High Court ruling on Sbu Ndebele Report

The African National Congress (ANC) in the Eastern Cape has welcomed the decision by the South Gauteng High Court to dismiss an application launched by four disgruntled ANC members, who were seeking a declaratory order on the Sbu Ndebele Report Conference with costs.

"The court judgement from the South Gauteng High Court today (25 June 2018) and the Umtata High Court on the outcomes of the 2015 OR Tambo Regional Conference last week, vindicates the ANC Eastern Cape Provincial Executive Committee about the correctness of the NEC in endorsing the 8th Provincial Conference outcomes," said ANC Eastern Cape Provincial Secretary, Lulama Ngcukayitobi.

"The matter referred to the court has never been a legal matter, but a political ploy to defocus the entire ANC from its strategic agenda of creation of a united ,non-racial and a prosperous nation .

"It is clearly a counter-revolutionary agenda, which is to take over the ANC and divert its agenda of reconstruction and development."

Ngcukayitobi said that the ANC continues to question the source of funding of all these cases waged at the Umtata High Court, East London High Court,Grahamstown High Court and South Gauteng High Court.

"The irony is the fact that most of these applicants who take our movement to courts are unemployed , and they are a “front” for others who wanted to oppose the ANC at all costs for selfish and personal interests.

"The applicants in all these cases have allowed themselves to be used handy as agents to the counter revolutionary agenda both in the Province and elsewhere throughout the country," he described.

"These challenges are brought by looters of state resources through their proxies who are fed on crumbs that fall from the master’s tables."

Ngcukayitobi said that the ANC is a voluntary organization and any member joins it voluntarily and commits his/herself to its decisions and programs.

"The ANC's internal remedies must be explored by loyal members of our glorious movement and accept the authority of the structures of the ANC."
