Annual MOTOR MECH SHOW 2020 expected to be awesome!

Port Elizabeth - MIWA launch their second MOTOR MECH SHOW on Saturday, 22nd February 2020 at the Newton Technical High School, in Newton Park, Port Elizabeth.

One of the event organisers, Bridget Finn, says, “This is the second year in a row that we are holding the festival and we plan to make it an annual event.  We expect this year to be bigger and better than last year.”

What to expect at the MOTOR MECH SHOW 2020

There will be car displays with Classic Cars as well as a variety of Dealer Cars and Motorbikes.  Visitors will have a chance to not only view these vehicles but, in some cases, chat to the owners and sales people too.

Also on display will be MIWA affiliated workshops, spare shops, spare manufacturers, colleges and other motor related industries.

There will be two live competitions were mechanics compete for the honour of being named “School Mechanic 2020” and “Motor Mech Master Mechanic 2020”.

A DJ will keep the crowd informed of events and also name the winners of the Lucky Draws, there will be several throughout the day.

The event promises to keep petrol heads interested for most of the day and so there will be food trucks and food stalls on hand for refreshments and to fill those hungry tummies.

If kids are not as interested as the parents with what’s on show there will be kid’s activities too.

The objective of the show

Bridget adds, “Our objective is to create awareness of the motor industry and generate an interest in motor mechanics as a career for both junior and high school kids.”

Almost everybody relies on a motor engine to get around and MOTOR MECH SHOW 2020 will show visitors how passionate industry players are about training, quality parts, graded workshops and how they work together to improve the motor industry.

Where and when

The event will be held on Saturday, 22nd February 2020 and will remain at the Newton Technical High School.

The gates will open at 9:00 and the show will finish at 15:00. The entrance fee is only R10 and tickets will go into a lucky draw.

“We are pleased to announce that the ticket sales and additional lucky draw tickets will go to the Newton Tech High School for the upliftment of their students,” says Bridget.
