Arch making good progress

The daughter of Anglican Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Tutu has said the 83-year old Nobel peace laureate continues to remain in good spirits while undergoing treatment for an undisclosed “persistent infection”.

Speaking in an interview, Reverend Mpho Tutu said doctors at a Cape Town hospital are confident that his admittance is not related to reports of prostate cancer, and that he will have to cut back on public appearances.

“Because his doctors are quite confident that they will be able to land on treatment for the infection, my anxiety levels are quite low. My mother gets anxious because she’s his wife, it’s different,” she said.

Tutu, who recently renewed his wedding vows to wife Leah after 60 years of marriage, was taken to hospital on Wednesday with little further info being made available.
