Asanda Bam will perform at Opera house Jazz’Afro Sundays

A fantastic singer and songwriter from the Bay who like many of our own set off for the bright lights of Joburg and was quickly sought after by the likes of Thandiswa Mazwai, Gloria Bosman, Swazi Dlamini and Africa’s very own superstar Angelique Kidjo as a backing vocalist. In 2010 she went off on her own and released her formidable debut album which garnered her a Metro FM Award Nomination.

Asanda began her musical career in 2002 when she joined Gospel mega group Joyous Celebration.

Asanda’s music has etches of Afro-Soul; Jazz; RnB; and the soulful Blues. Having travelled throughout Africa gracing countries such as Nigeria, DRC; Lesotho; Swaziland and Mozambique with her sultry voice and come Sunday 06 May it will be our turn at the Bann Theatre!

Asanda will be joined on stage by Thoba Goba on Drums; Temba Ncetani on Bass; Lubabalo Luzipo on Keys & Lawrence Matshiza on Guitar
