Atlas Security makes record number of arrests in September

Port Elizabeth-based security company, Atlas Security, on Wednesday announced that it made 14 arrests in September 2017 for various crimes in Nelson Mandela Bay with a majority made in Walmer Heights, Uitenhage and Mill Park.

A marked increase from the eight to 10 monthly arrests the private security firm usually makes.

There has been a general increase in crime across the Bay, and many of the suspects have been linked to other crimes.

“We believe this spike in arrests is due to the active show of force by Atlas,” remarks Monty Montgomery, Atlas Security, operations manager.

“Working closely with Neighborhood watch groups and the control room monitoring Whasapp community security WhatsApp groups we’re included in, have all contributed to these arrests.”

The fleet of Atlas Security vehicles are suburb-based, and dispatched on demand from a state-of-the-art Port Elizabeth-based control room, to get boots on the ground as quick as possible to locate, chase and arrest criminals as efficiently as possible.
