Police in Port Elizabeth have appealed to the public for assistance after the badly mutilated body of an elderly woman was found in the bushes close to monument crossing (intersection of R334 and R335) in Motherwell on Wednesday evening.

He said that after the discovery of the body, family positively identified her by means of the clothing she was wearing as well as her dreadlocks hair, as her face was unrecognisably mutilated.
