Bargain Buys reaches a new milestone – over 50 000 vouchers sold!

After seeing most of its local competitors – the likes of Groupon SA, falling by the wayside over the years, Bargain Buys continues to gather momentum and reached a new milestone on Monday, with over 50 000 vouchers sold.

Bargain Buys, who offers discounted vouchers to consumers, was launched in Port Elizabeth at the end of 2008.

The platform’s continued growth is because of a unique discount-voucher business model that offers a win-win arrangement to both customers and service providers, who range from restaurants, hotels, safaris, spas to fashion outlets - all dotted around South Africa.

Graeme Lund, the owner of Ricochet Publishing to whom Bargain Buys belongs, explains; “We offer our service providers a substantial and effective marketing campaign that includes print, web, email and social media for a limited number of vouchers.

“If we do not market the service provider effectively then nobody will buy the Bargain Buys vouchers. The fact that people buy and redeem Bargain Buy vouchers is proof that our marketing of the service provider was effective.”

The 50 000th Bargain Buys voucher was purchased by Sue Shaw from the Eastern Cape. She has actually been using Bargain Buys since January 2013 - and never thought she will be making history with the platform one day in 2018.

We congratulate her on her token prize!
