Be a hero for a day and take part in the Superhero Fun Run Carnival

Feel like a true Superhero at Happy Valley, in Port Elizabeth, this Sunday and take part in the Superhero Fun Run/Walk and Carnival in aid of the St Francis Hospice.

The Hospice hopes to raise significant funding on the day via entrance fees, sponsorship and general donations during the day.

Hospice provides Home-Based Palliative Care monthly to some 200 terminally ill Cancer, HIV/AIDS and Motor Neurone Disease patients in the Nelson Mandela Bay Metro and Kouga region – at no cost to the patient. Hospice visits the families for a time after the patient has passed on to make sure they are coping and healing.

This event has officially been entered on Recordsetter.com to officially own the record for the Largest Superhero Fun-Run, therefor all participants are encouraged to wear a superhero outfit or item.

So even if you don’t have a full Superhero costume, be sure to don a mask or cape or even your favourite heroes symbol as you take part in the day’s festivities.

Entry, including access to the Carnival, is R60 per adults, R30 per child and R150 for a family of four.

The run/walk, of about 3km, will start at Happy Valley at 7am, proceed down Marine Drive and end off in Happy Valley again. Entry to the Carnival is R20 for adults and R10 per child.

In secure surroundings, there will be fun activities for the entire family – performing artists, food stalls, jumping castle, face painting and various lawn games. For the competitive there will be prizes for the best-dressed Superheroes announced on the day.

So suit up and put on your best Superhero pose, enter online at Ticketpros.co.za or at Jet, Edgars and Postnet.
