Bethelsdorp man found beaten to death, police appeal for leads

Port Elizabeth - Bethelsdorp police, in Port Elizabeth, on Friday appealed to the public for any information relating to an incident where a 46-year-old man from Mallow Street, Ext 33, in Bethelsdorp, was found beaten to death.

"It is alleged that at about 06:00, on Friday morning, a passer-by alerted police of a body lying in an open field between Ext 33 in Bethelsdorp and Kwanoxolo," described police spokesperson, W/OFF Alwin Labans.

"Eugene Rossouw was last seen by his girlfriend on Thursday night, at about 20:00.

"He sustained multiple head injuries.

"Police suspect he may have been brutally assaulted."

W/O Labans said that the reason for the fatal assault is yet to be established and suspects are unknown at this stage.
