Bloem businesswoman to be sentenced for fraud

The sentencing of Bloemfontein fraudster and thief, Lianné Greyling, is expected to begin in the Bloemfontein Regional Court on Wednesday.

Businesswoman Greyling was found guilty on 12 charges of fraud and 12 of theft in April this year. She pleaded guilty to all charges.

The charges related to luxury motor vehicles and spares which she imported for clients. An estimated R6m is involved.

Magistrate Marina Voges granted the defence’s request to postpone sentencing on June 17.

Greyling’s defence team argued that they had only received a welfare report that week and did not have time to consult with Greyling about it.

She is being held at the Kimberley prison.
