Buffalo City NPOs benefit from FoodforwardSA donation

East London - Around 13 Not for Profit Organisations (NPOs) in the Buffalo City Metro on Saturday received a massive stock of food from FoodforwardSA valued over R500 000.

"The food will be used to make food parcels for the beneficiaries of the NPO who are from disadvantaged communities," read a statement from the office of Buffalo City Municipality Mayor, Xola Pakati.

"The food will benefit more than 6 000 families across the city.

"The NPOs to benefit are champions in fighting against gender-based violence, human rights violations and they also aim to mitigate the impact of HIV/AIDS, and TB through social interventions and treatment literacy in BCMM.

"This intervention will decisively assist the social relief efforts that the city is making in the fight against poverty and hunger during this period where we are battling COVID-19. We welcome these noble efforts by FoodforwardSA."
