BUSINESS-ORIENTED: A true executive experience at Jemima’s Bunker on Bailie Guest Lodge

Most travelling executives will tell you that finding a genuinely business-oriented hotel, in most towns in the Eastern Cape is usually an arduous affair. Understandably, most offerings are actually family hotels or BnB’s that dabble in the business market part-time. But after a staying at Jemima’s Bunker on Bailie Guest Lodge, at Bunkers Hill in East London, I believe I have found my base in that city.

Not only is Jemima’s located in an upmarket leafy suburb, it is centrally positioned and provides immediate access to the East London CBD, airport, malls and restaurants. The famous East London Golf Course and most of the city’s popular tourist attractions are also within a few minutes’ drive.

When you arrive at Jemima’s, which is 4-Star rated, you can expect luxurious and modern facilities as well as a distinctive ambience which, combined, create a unique French boutique-style.

After a long day of business meetings, I was guaranteed of total relaxation at this hotel. Bunker on Bailie offers eighteen elegantly-furnished rooms which epitomise luxury and style. These have en-suite bathrooms which are tastefully-finished in travertine and dark wood accents while the luxury rooms have free-standing baths. There are also special sports and family rooms available.

Standard amenities also include coffee/tea-making facilities (luxury rooms have filter coffee facilities); Wi-Fi internet access; DSTV, fans (air-conditioning in selected rooms) and heaters as well as enough room for you to work through the night - if you so wish. Dinners are available on request and a laundry service is available for your convenience.

Besides ample and secure off-road parking, they have several exclusive on-site facilities including a swimming pool, an honesty bar with a flat screen TV as well as braai and dining areas.

Instead of meeting your clients in stuffy restaurants, you can impress them at Jemima’s conferencing venue. The venue can host up to 28 delegates (in several layouts) and has state-of-the-art audio visual equipment. They also offer a comprehensive snack and meal menu which can meet your delegates’ dietary preferences while a licensed bar is available for post-conference relaxation.

If you are adventurous you will be happy to know that Jemima’s can arrange tours and excursions for you on request. They can also arrange a return driving service after a happy night out with your clients – if ever you needed it.

Above all, I always find the Jemima staff helpful and extremely friendly. They make a real effort to make you feel welcome and comfortable.
