Businesses and residents warned about possible march in Jeffreys Bay

The Kouga Local Municipality on Tuesday warned local residents and businesses in C-Place and Jeffreys Bay Central that there might be a march from the Caltex petrol station to the municipal offices in Da Gama Road on Wednesday morning.

"An application to march was submitted to the municipality and SAPS, however, neither the municipality nor SAPS have been able to get hold of the organisers to make the required safety arrangements," the municipality said.

"As a result, the application could not be approved.

"This does not mean, however, that the organisers will not attempt to continue with the march."

The municipality said that the route that the marchers applied to follow, starts at the open field opposite Caltex, down St Francis Street, left into De Reyger Street and left into Da Gama Road, ending at the municipal offices.

"We will be monitoring the situation closely."
