Celebratory edition Renault Duster here to Explore

A surprise hit since its local introduction in September 2013, Renault South Africa has launched a limited edition version of its Duster compact SUV, to celebrate the nameplate’s selling of 10 000 units.

Limited to 100 units and based on the two-wheel drive 1.6 Dynamique, the limited run Duster Explore mainly includes a number of cosmetic add-ons and revised spec level compared to the standard model. This includes a Duster badged stainless nudge bar, unique 16-inch alloy wheels, plastic wheel arch covers, Explore decals at the base of the rear doors, and a reverse camera.

Mechanically, the Explore remains unchanged with motivation still coming from the standard’s Duster 1.6-litre petrol engine, which makes 77 kW and 148 N.m of torque. A five-speed manual gearbox drives the front wheels with Renault claiming a combined fuel consumption figure of 7.6 L/100 km and emissions of 177 g/km.

A five year / 150 000 km warranty and three year / 45 000 km service plan is included in the Explore’s R258 900 asking price.
