Centane police need help identifying 65-year-old accident victim

Centane police are investigating a case of culpable homicide and have appealed to residents to come forward and help identify the victim.

"It is alleged that a man believed to be 65-years-old was crossing road at Thuthurha Village, Centane, on Monday, at about 21:30," said police spokesperson, Captain Jackson Manatha.

"The driver did not see the man and hit him. He took the man to Butterworth hospital where he passed away."

Captain Manatha added that the driver reported the accident at Centane Police Station.

"The deceased has not yet been identified. Centane Police are appealing to any family, whose male relative has not come home to contact them @ 047 498 1066/047 498 5400 for identification of the deceased."
