Charred body of unknown male found in Ikamvelihle, Port Elizabeth

Police in Port Elizabeth are investigating  a case of murder after the charred remains of an unknown man were discovered in Ikamvelihle, Motherwell, Port Elizabeth.

"The burnt out body of an unknown male was found at about 16:00 yesterday in a bushy area bordering Koliti Street, Ikamvelihle. It is unknown hown many perpetrators were involved in this murder or what the motive was for the murder," said police spokesperson, Captain Andre Beetge.

"The SAPS are suspecting this murder to be committed as a vigilante attack and killing by an unknown group of the community."

Police suspect charred body a result of mob justice

Motherwell SAPS Cluster Commander, Major General Dawie Rabie, strongly condemned this killing and said; "The community must refrain from taking the law into their own hands to commit assaults and murders on other persons or suspected criminals.

"Persons taking part in vigilante killings (mob justice) immediately become killers themselves."

General Rabie further state that the SAPS will not tolerate these murders and will arrest and institute murder prosecution against such persons.
