Chintsa East's Prana Lodge expands guest offering

Prana Lodge Private Beach Estate and Spa – situated in Chintsa East, just 40 minutes from East London Airport – recently completed the addition of an eighth luxury suite, known as the Diamond Villa. This uniquely positioned suite offers unobtrusive views of the magnificent Indian Ocean and Chintsa Beach. In addition to this, the lodge has also transformed its wellness spa into a place where not only its guests are pampered but its employees are uplifted.

The Diamond Villa is spacious beyond what is necessary and features a separate TV- and coffee-lounge that leads onto a private deck with a pool and garden shower. The bathroom is enormous and its vintage bath and double shower both offer magnificent views. While the large bedroom has been decorated with modern flair, it maintains the same homely feel associated with the rest of Prana Lodge.

Prana Lodge Owner, Gail Davidson has lovingly dispersed items from her previous homestead throughout the suites, lounges and dining areas, including magnificent artworks by local artists – and the same touch has been carried through to this new suite.

Comments Gail Davidson: “Each suite at Prana Lodge is named after a gemstone and thus it is only fitting that the newest and largest of these is named after the ever-prized diamond. We’re extremely pleased with the outcome of this suite and look forward providing guests of the Diamond Villa with the ultimate Prana experience.”

In recent months, the lodge furthermore began the process of shaping its wellness centre into a holistic spa, moving away from a focus on Thai treatments. With this growth, the decision was made to employ talented young ladies from an inspiring organisation known as ‘African Angels’.

This initiative provides women, often from challenging backgrounds, with the opportunity to develop skills in beauty therapy, cosmetology, massage and the likes, equipping them to enter into, and grow in the work world, thus uplifting themselves.

“We’re really excited about the new chapter that our spa is entering into, offering guests even more in the way of wellness and pampering, and brightening the futures of these young ladies,” adds Gail.

A tempting range of massages, reflexology, aromatherapy, steam showers and skin care treatments provide guests with the greatest offer of rejuvenation. Herbs and natural ingredients, many of which are picked from Prana Lodge’s own organic herb garden, facilitate the release of impurities and encourage wellbeing.

Prana Lodge’s awe-inspiring setting allows guests to completely indulge in the experience away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The 21km stretch of uninterrupted beach on Prana Lodge’s doorstep invites guests to enjoy long, refreshing strolls, while plunge pools and private patios which form part of each of the eight luxury suites at Prana Lodge provide absolute privacy where guests can achieve further relaxation.
