Chippa Diski Challenge side see it past Ajax

The Chippa United Multichoice Diski Challenge side rendered their sixth victory out of 13 matches in the current seasonal fold, as they toppled Ajax Cape Town 3-2 at Ikamva, Cape Town, on Saturday.

Coming back from 2-0 down, a red card shown to Ajax’s Lebohang Mokoena in the first half for a reckless tackle, paved way for Chippa to overtake for eventual victors, as they scored three unanswered goals at the end of the first half and the second half respectively.

Chippa’s first goal came at the foot of Donald Mokondelela, off an elegant assist from Tshwarelo Bereng late in the first half. Reversibly, on the 50th minute, an exemplary through-ball from Mokondelela sort a goal from Bereng to equalize the scores 2-2.

In the dying minutes of the game, a close-range header from Luxolo Nabo, sealed the 3-2 victory for Chippa, as Ajax’s keeper, Darren Johnson, was unable to hold-up the continuous onslaught beamed at him in the second half.

Ajax’s two goal scorers in the first half were scored by Masilake Phohlongo and Neo Makua in just the fourth and 16th minutes respectively.

On the overall Multichoice Diski Challenge Log, Chippa are currently placed eighth, with Ajax placed at 12th. Chippa are set to play their next encounter against Baroka FC Reserves at King Zwelithini Stadium on Saturday 11th February.
