Circular Technologies celebrates its 10th year anniversary

Sitting in her modest office, it is hard not to notice Eusentha Pillay’s affable yet strong-willed character. Among other hats that she wears, she is the mom-preneur owner and chief salesperson, at Circular Technologies, aptly named after its location in Circular Drive, Port Elizabeth. This year, the company is celebrating its 10th anniversary.

“What actually happened is I registered a company in 2002 as I had always wanted to run my own business. But I was scared of taking the plunge until 2006 when my husband handed me a start-up capital and challenged me to venture out,” Pillay says.

“I remember my biggest worry was that, at the end of the month, I would not be able to pay my suppliers. Ten years later, here we are; I am very happy, I am my own boss – actually I see myself as a worker, and we are growing.”

Pillay is originally from Pietermaritzburg. After getting married, she relocated to Port Elizabeth and worked at a local company for about eight years before deciding to turn down some head-hunters and become her own boss, which would also enable her to spend more time with her two girls.

Circular Technologies, which is BBBEE Level 1 certified, mainly supplies the public and corporate sectors with anything from computer hardware, software, back-up services, printers, stationery and consumables among other products and services as well as technical support, with an emphasis on delivering same-day service.

“Service is my thing. If you ask me for something, it I DELIVER. The thing is, in Port Elizabeth, we do not have many companies providing good service – you always have to pick up a phone and ask people over and over again for something,” Pillay describes.

She says it is one of the reasons why Circular Technologies is now the preferred supplier with many of her clients, who include the Government Sector and the Corporate World “because they know if they order something from us, they won’t have to wait for two weeks – we will deliver in the shortest possible time and to the agreed quality.”

Besides becoming a Preferred HP Partner, Pillay says some of the highlights for her company over the past decade include winning incentives from suppliers that have seen her going to Europe and into Africa as well as winning huge competitive government contracts.

“I am glad at how things have worked out. When people meet me, they already know what I am about and my business principles.”For more about their services, contact Eusentha Pillay on 041 368 7414, email [email protected] or visit their website www.circulartech.co.za.
