Collect those bread tags for wheelchairs: Hermanus Library

Do you realise what you can do with those bread tags that normally end up in the dustbin?

The Hermanus Library is appealing to the public to collect bread tags (even if they are broken) and use the library as a drop-off point.

Bread tags are made of high impact polystyrene and therefore have a very good recycling value and can be used to help someone in need of a wheelchair.

Imagine filling one bread bag with ALL your bread tags: 200 bread bags filled with tags will fit into 10 black bags. THAT will be enough in recycling value to pay for one wheelchair!

Make the simple routine of collecting your bread tags a habit, it will keep plastic from the landfill sites and will have the huge advantage of giving mobility to someone who needs a wheelchair.
