Port Elizabeth - A prisoner currently serving a two-year sentence at the North End Correctional facility in Port Elizabeth faces more jail time after he was linked to seven other cases of house robbery, housebreaking and theft out of motor vehicle.

"In April 2019, he was sentenced for possession of suspected stolen property. He was arrested in the Summerstrand area in 2018," described police spokesperson, Col Priscilla Naidu.

"The 29-year-old suspect allegedly committed almost all of his crimes in the Summerstrand area.

"One house robbery was committed in Lorraine."

She said that the offences took place between 2013 and 2018.

"The suspect was positively linked through DNA."

Col Naidu said that D/Sgt, Ridwaan Baatjies, of the Cluster Trio Detective Task Team, charged the suspect and he is expected to appear in the Port Elizabeth Magistrate's Court on Monday on charges of five house robberies, one housebreaking and one theft out of motor vehicle.
