Corporate conferencing: Get your message across in style

Not so long ago, the Eastern Cape lagged behind the bigger provinces, particularly the Western Cape, KZN and Gauteng, when it came to offering modern and large-scale conferencing facilities. This is no longer the case, mainly thanks to the flagship International Convention Centres at the Boardwalk, in Port Elizabeth, and at the Premier Hotel, in East London. 

Still, there is a wealth of smaller, but no less efficient, conference facilities in the region that cater for all manner of business conferencing needs. Business Link spoke to the managers of some of these venues to find out what they have to offer and what differentiates them from the rest of the market.


Faith Bada, the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University’s (NMMU) Events Manager says; “The NMMU’s North Campus has its Up-Market Theatre for conferences of up to 160 delegates as well as two other smaller venues for training or seminars. There is also a restaurant that can seat 150 diners, from business breakfasts to evening banquettes.  For larger groups, we make use of our Auditorium which accommodates 650 delegates cinema-style.
