COVID-19: Cases rise to 32 in Kouga Local Municipality

Jeffreys Bay - The number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in the Kouga region has increased to 32, according to the latest report from the Department of Health.

"13 of the 32 cases are active while 19 have already recovered," the Kouga Local Municipality said.

"All 13 patients are in self-quarantine."

It added that the active cases are in Humansdorp (7), Jeffreys Bay (4), St Francis Bay (1) and Hankey (1).

"No further details were released."

Eastern Cape COVID-19

Meanwhile, as of Wednesday, COVID-19 cases in the Eastern Cape stood at 7 154.

The Province has 3 647 recoveries.

Regrettably, the Province has lost another nine (9) patients to Covid-19.

"We send our deepest sympathies to their loved ones and thank the healthcare workers who treated the patients," said Eastern Cape Premier, Oscar Mabuyane.

"The total number of deaths is now at 147."
