Dagga worth an estimated R126 000 seized during bust at Engcobo

Ngcobo - Seven suspects, aged between 21 and 45 years old, are expected in court soon after they were arrested by local Vispol members in possession of dagga bags worth around R126 000.

"Members were on their  daily routine patrolling around town during early hours on Sunday," said police spokesperson, Capt Namhla Mdleleni. 

"During their patrol, they spotted a suspicious Toyota Hill near a garage.

"The vehicle was searched and 21 bags of dagga was confiscated with an estimated value of R126 000."

Capt Mdleleni said that it is believed that the vehicle was traveling from Lusikisiki to Cape Town.  

"All suspects were detained and will appear  before the Ngcobo Magistrate's Court soon."
