Despatch butchery targeted again by armed robbers

Police are searching for at least three men, who allegedly robbed a butchery in Botha Street, in Despatch, during lunchtime on Tuesday.

"At around 1:30pm, it is alleged that three men armed with firearms stormed into a butchery in Botha Street, Despatch," described police spokesperson, Sergeant Majola Nkohli.

"It is said that one of the suspects held the two assistants at gunpoint, while the other two men ransacked the business.

"The suspects stole undisclosed amount of cash before fleeing in a white/beige Corsa with Gauteng registration number plates."

He said that the same butchery was also robbed of cash last week, in a similar fashion.

"Police are hot on the heels of the suspects in the first incident," said Sergeant Nkohli.

"Anyone with information that could lead to the arrest of the suspects is urged to contact the investigating officer, Warrant Officer Wouter Verwey at 084 846 2273 or to anonymously share information via Crime Stop 08600 10111."
