Police in Despatch, just outside Port Elizabeth, on Tuesday said that they have launched a manhunt for three suspects following a house robbery that occurred in the early hours of Sunday morning in Hobe Street, Despatch.

"It is alleged that the complainant and his two brothers were sleeping, when they heard a noise outside," said police spokesperson, Captain Gerda Swart.

"As the complainant and his brothers approached a door, it was allegedly kicked open by the suspects.

"The three suspects threatened the brothers with a foreign object (not clear if it was a firearm or knife) and the suspects demanded cash from them."

She said that the suspects took an undisclosed amount of cash, an older model Television Set, cellphone and groceries and fled from the scene.

"No one sustained any injuries during the robbery.  No arrests were made as yet," described Captain Swart.

"Despatch detectives are following up on all possible leads and request anyone who might be able to assist with information that could lead to the arrest of the suspects, to contact SAPS Despatch on 041 933 8800 or Crime Stop 08600 10111."
