Duo arrested after foreign national gunned down, accomplices on the run

Port St Johns - OR Tambo police say they are committed to rooting out crime and arresting those terrorising local communities.

"As a result, two men, aged 21 and 27 years old, have been arrested after they shot and killed a 52-year-old foreign national at his container at Green's Farm in Port St Johns on Saturday, at about 09h00," said police spokesperson, Captain Dineo Koena.

"It is alleged that four armed men arrived at a container used as a spaza shop by the deceased and randomly opened fire killing him instantly.

"Police and the CPF made chase and two of the suspects were arrested and a 9mm pistol with 05 rounds was confiscated."

She said that two suspects managed to flee from arrest.

Capt Koena urged anyone with information on the wanted suspects to dial *134*10111#. "Your name will remain anonymous."

SAPS District Commissioner, Major General David Kanuka, when warning the two outstanding suspects; "You may hide but you can never run away from the law.

"We appreciate the efforts and assistance of our community in assisting us in arresting these suspects. Please give us an information about the whereabouts of the other two suspects."
