Dutywa man busted while travelling with dagga worth over R40 000

A 45-year-old man is expected in court on Wednesday after he was busted by Mbashe Local Municipality Law Enforcement Officers and Dutywa police for dealing in dagga.

"The suspect was a passenger in taxi that was driven along N2 road near Bhadela Village, Dutywa, on Tuesday," said police spokesperson, Captain Jackson Manatha.

"The taxi was stopped at about 15h00 and four bags of dagga, which were linked with suspect were found.

"The dagga has weight of 42,24kg with a street value of R43,000."

Capt Manatha said that the suspect has been charged with dealing in dagga.

"He is due to appear before the Dutywa Magistrate's Court on Wednesday on a charge of dealing in dagga."
