Dutywa man expected in court for stabbing another man to death

Dutywa police arrested a 27-year-old man for alleged murder of a 37-year-old man over the weekend.

"It is alleged that both the suspect and the deceased had a misunderstanding that is not known to the police on Saturday, at about 17:30, at Mission Locality, Nyhwarha Village, Dutywa," said police spokesperson, Captain Jackson Manatha.

"During the process of the misunderstanding, the suspect allegedly drew knife and fatally stabbed the deceased.

"The deceased suffered upper body injury and died at the scene."

Once the murder case was reported to Dutywa Police Station, police acted swiftly and arrested the suspect.

"The identity of the deceased is still being withheld as some of his close relatives are yet to be informed of his murder," he added.

"The 27-year-old suspect will appear before the Dutywa Magistrate's Court on Tuesday on a murder charge."
