Dutywa man stabbed to death in argument between wife and another woman

A 31-year-old woman is expected in court on Monday after she was arrested by Dutywa police for alleged murder of a 40-year-old man over the weekend.

"It is alleged that the suspect had a misunderstanding with the wife of the deceased," said police spokesperson, Captain Jackson Manatha.

"The suspect came to the homestead of the deceased to sort out the misunderstanding. She was accompanied by her husband. The deceased tried to negotiate the misunderstanding between his wife and the suspect.

"The suspect, who was armed with a knife is alleged to have stabbed the 40-year-old man in front of his wife."

Captain Manatha said that the deceased was stabbed on his upper body and died almost immediately.

"The murder took place on Saturday, at about 12:30, at Doti Location, in Mangati Village, Dutywa. The misunderstanding between the two women, which led to the fatal stabbing of the deceased is not yet clear at this point in time," he added.

Dutywa police were informed of the murder and acted swiftly by rushing to the scene of crime. The suspect was traced and arrested.

She in custody and will appear before the Dutywa Magistrate's Court on Monday.

The identity of the deceased is still being withheld until all his family members are informed about his murder.
