Dutywa police investigating incidents of culpable homicide

Dutywa - Dutywa police are investigating a case of culpable homicide following a fatal accident that occurred over the weekend.

"It is alleged that a bakkie rolled along the N2 road, near Ngxakaxha Village, Dutywa, on Sunday, at about 06h00," said police spoksperson, Captain Jackson Manatha.

"The driver of the bakkie, believed to be 30 years old, was found alone inside the vehicle.

"He has not yet been identified."

Capt Manatha said that he was wearing a blue jean trouser and a white t-shirt.

"Anyone, who can identify him is kindly requested to contact Dutywa police at 047 489 1333."

In a separate incident, Msobomvu police are investigating a case of culpable homicide after a 55-year-old woman was allegedly hit by bakkie along N2 road near Bika Township, Butterworth.

"The fatal accident happened on Saturday, at about 18h55. The 55-year-old woman passed away at the scene," Capt Manatha added.

"The identity of the deceased will be released once her relatives are officially informed of her death."
