Dutywa police looking for driver who sped away after killing three boys

Dutywa - Dutywa police are investigating  cases of culpable homicide and failure to stop after an accident following an incident in which three boys were killed.

"It is alleged that a motor car that was driven along R408 road near Mqonci Village, between Dutywa and Ngcobo, hit three children on Friday, at about 16h10," said police spokesperson, Captain Jackson Manatha.

"It is alleged that the children - all young boys aged seven, nine and 15 years, were walking along the road when the motor car  hit them.

"All of them passed away at the scene. The motor car driver did not stop and failed to report the accident at Dutywa Police Station."

The identities of the deceased are still being withheld until all their family members are officially informed of their deaths.

Dutywa Police are investigating cases of culpable homicide and failure to stop after an accident. Anyone who has the details of the motor car is kindly requested to furnish its particulars to Dutywa Police Station at 047 489 1333.

The information will be treated confidentially. Butterworth Cluster Commander, Brigadier Ngangema Xakavu condemned the behaviour of the motor car driver for failing to stop and report the fatal accident.

The fatal accident was not caused by the truck but a motor car.
