East London police appeal for leads after man gunned down on Monday afternoon

A case of murder has been opened and handed over to the Eastern Cape Provincial Organised Crime Detectives for further investigation after a shooting incident that happened on Monday at Brealyn, East London, at about 15:50.

"It is alleged that a male victim (45) was shot and wounded in the upper body.  He later succumbed to his wounds on the scene.  No one was arrested and police are following leads," described police spokesperson, Capt Khaya Tonjeni.

"Police would like anyone with information that could help speedily solve this case, to share information with them. All information will be treated with confidentiality. Call Crime Stop on 08600 10111."
