East London police recover hijacked truck

East London - At approximately 06:55 on Tuesday morning, the East London Flying Squad recovered a hijacked Bakers Transport Mercedes Benz truck next to Cobongo School on the N6.

"The truck was destined to go and deliver goods of at Aliwal North.

"On their arrival two of the employers were locked at the back of the truck with some of the stock still in the truck," said police spokesperson, Captain Hazel Mqala.

"The estimated value of recoved truck is R800 000 truck, R300 000 of goods that was still left in the truck."

Capt Mqala said that information was received that a unknown blue Toyota Avanza and Nissan Bakkie offloaded some of the goods and drove to the direction of Stuterheim.

"No arrest at the moment investigation is taking place."
