Eastcape Training Centre upholds reputation as a premier functions venue

When it first opened its doors to the public in 1986, the purpose-designed ETC Conference Centre, which is located at the Eastcape Training Centre, in Port Elizabeth, was among the most reputable function venues in the city – and it has sought to maintain that status into the 21st century.

To date, the venue has hosted a wide range of high profile functions including business and government banquets, international conferences and exhibitions, which have been attended by high profile delegates such as President Jacob Zuma.

Arriving at the ETC Conference Centre, the first thing you will notice is an impressive entrance, which leads into an expansive foyer with elegant surroundings – just ideal for pre-conference gatherings, exhibitions, product displays, cocktail functions and registration facilities.

The centre’s key feature though is its main auditorium, which is able to comfortably seat around 500 delegates and guests – hence its popularity with big event organisers. This auditorium can still be easily partitioned into four units, utilising floor to ceiling soundproof, sliding partitions, for smaller events and functions.

A comprehensive kitchen within the building also allows for full in-house catering with a wide variety of menu choices as well as outdoor catering. On the premises is also a terrace and gazebo with braai facilities for smaller groups to mingle casually.

The Centre’s large entrance provides suitable access for vehicles, buses and trucks of any size to be parked right next to the auditorium - for which most of your delegates will thank you for.

While the venue was built in the 80’s, it offers all the modern amenities that you would expect from any conferencing venue that is worth its name. It is fully air-conditioned, has free Wi-Fi, modern sound and audio equipment, projectors, flexirail systems, movable seating and even maintains a facsimile service.

Above all, their facilities have also been designed with disabled delegates and guests in mind.

For your delegates’ post conference entertainment and relaxation, ETC Conference Centre also has a fully licenced bar. Needless to say, its location places it within reach of many of the tourist attractions, entertainment spots as well as accommodation offerings found in Port Elizabeth and surrounding areas.

Located just off the Uitenhage highway, the venue is also easily accessible from any direction in the city, including from the Port Elizabeth airport.
