ECDOH and Coega reach agreement in fees payment impasse

The Eastern Cape Department of Health (ECDoH) and the Coega Development Corporation (CDC), a Programme Implementing Agent (IA) on the Health Infrastructure Delivery Programme, announced that they have reached an amicable resolution to the impasse that has led to the dispute regarding the payment of professional management fees for services rendered.

Given the Arbitration award by a panel of three independent and professionally competent experts  to settle the first phase of the dispute (“Management Fees for services rendered by CDC to ECDoH as a programme implementing agent”), whilst discussions are on-going to settle phase two (“The proposed Service Delivery Agreement (SDA) between ECDoH and CDC for the period 2018 onwards.”), both parties have resorted to improving their relationship and continue to work together in the implementation of the ECDoH projects. 

 “The two organizations have reached mutual beneficial settlement of outstanding issues of dispute. The department holds Coega Development Corporation as responsible and reputable implementing agent and has achieved exceptional quality of work in contracts we had jointly implemented for the province.

"The state of the art Cecilia Makhiwane of shining example of professional supervised by the CDC professionals,” said Head of Department of Health, Dr Thobile Mbengashe.
